How to Spend Christmas in Cape May

The best time of the year is upon us! It’s hard to believe, but we’re only a few days from Christmas, and as always, we want to wish you a very merry holiday and a joyful time with family and friends over this next week.

For locals and guests that will be in Cape May for Christmas, holiday festivities will be taking place all around town, and you won’t want to miss any of them! If these past few weeks leading up to Christmas haven’t already gotten you into the holiday spirit, then there’s still plenty of festivities to get you there over this final week of the year

Evening Yuletide House Tour

The Yuletide House Tour at the historic Physick House showcases an authentic Victorian-style Christmas. The thirty minute guided tour takes you through the festively decorated first-floor rooms of the house and is a look back in time at the Victorian Christmas traditions the Physick family had in the late 1800s. You can also take a stroll through the old fashioned Christmas exhibit at the Carroll Gallery, where you’ll be able to check out model trains, a village collection, and the enormous Christmas tree that is on display.

Holiday Lights Trolley Ride

One of the most popular attractions during the Christmas season is the Holiday Lights Trolley Ride. The trolley tour takes you through the historic streets of Cape May, starting and returning at the Ocean Street trolley stop. Listen to Christmas music, learn about Victorian tradition, and admire the stunning homes in the enchanting light of the season. Just be sure to wear layers or bring a blanket, because it’ll be chilly on the trolley!

Lamplighter Christmas Tour

The Lamplighter Christmas Tour is a self-guided walking tour put on by Cape May MAC that takes you through a selection of private homes along with some Cape May bed & breakfasts that have have been beautifully decorated with holidays lights and decor. Similar to the Evening Yuletide House Tour, the Lamplighter Tour also includes a visit to the Carroll Gallery for the Old-Fashioned Christmas Exhibit.
