Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re wondering how to best express your love for your Mom, book her a trip to Cape May! Homestead can help you find the perfect rental for your Mom! With most shops and restaurants open full time, and the weather cooperating, you have all the components for the perfect getaway.

Cape May has so many activities and great things going on. If it’s your first time in Cape May, take the Welcome to Cape May Trolley Tour to get acquainted with the lay of the land and learn why Cape May is a National Historic Landmark. You will also get the opportunity to see the most famous streets and landmarks in the Historic District. The trolley runs daily at 1:00 pm.

On Saturday May 5th, you can combine your love for architecture AND your love for chocolate on the Chocolate Tasting Tour. You’ll visit Historic Landmark properties, each offering their own delicious chocolate delicacies for you to taste. During the two-hour tour (from 1-3 pm) you’ll get to tour the Brown Family Residence, Buttercup Cottage, Carriage House Cafe & Tearoom, Henry Sawyer Inn and John Hand House.

If jazz music is your thing, Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities has planned a Jazz Brunch at the Estate for Mother’s Day.  Enjoy a brunch at the Carriage House Cafe and Tearoom and listen to live jazz music featuring Mary Lou Newnam and Sonny Troy. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 13 at 10:00 am.

On Saturday May 12, stop by the Physick Estate for their Sip into Spring Festival. Celebrate spring’s rebirth with great food, drinks, live music and outdoor gardening and nature demonstrations. Take a piece of Cape May with you by purchasing gifts made by local vendors and crafters.

If you are looking for something fun to do with the entire family, sign up for the most anticipated event of the season, Clam-A-Rama. The 7th annual tournament takes place Saturday, May 12 at the Rusty Nail. If spectating sounds more attractive, you can still enjoy drinks at the longest beach bar in town and beach inspired food bites!
