  • Birding at Cape May Point

    Cape May Point State Park - Hawkwatch Platform Starts: 8:00AM | Ends: 10:00AM

    Enjoy 2 hours of birding around Cape May Point, the ideal spot to catch sight of migrating waterfowl, songbirds, shorebird etc.  You can expect to walk 1 to 1.5 miles of mostly flat land but may encounter some sandy or muddy terrain.  Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear.

    *Pre-Registration is required.  $8 Members/$10 Non-Members

  • Youth Birders & Spring Migration

    Cape May Point State Park - Hawkwatch Platform Starts: 8:30AM | Ends: 11:30AM

    Are you a youth birder who is looking to experience spring migration in Cape May? Look no further!

    Staff and volunteers will assist youth birders in their search for waterfowl, raptors, songbird migrants, gulls, terns, migrating loons and more!

    This may include walking in various weather conditions and muddy or sandy terrain so please dress accordingly.  

    Recommended age for field trip: 8 years old and up. Parents or guardians are required to accompany their children during this program at no additional charge.

  • Blessing of the Waters Ceremony

    Cape May’s Fisherman’s Memorial, Missouri Avenue and the Harbor Starts: 11:00AM | Ends: 12:00PM

    The Blessing of the Waters honors Cape May’s commercial fishermen and their vital role in the community’s economy and maritime heritage. Faith leaders, fishermen, and community members gather at the waterfront to offer prayers for protection, safe voyages, and a successful season at sea. This longstanding tradition recognizes the courage and dedication of those who make their living on the water while celebrating the rich maritime legacy of Cape May during its 175th anniversary and the 250th anniversary of the United States.
