Cape May Jazz Vespers welcomes back one of our favorites, The Barry Miles Trio, for our September Vespers show. Brilliant pianist and prolific composer Barry Miles is a favorite with Cape May audiences, and for good reason. His playing ranges from the subtle and nuanced to powerful and passionate. He has been a leading figure on the jazz scene since recording his first album at age 14. He’s played on countless albums by the world’s premier jazz players. He was Roberta Flack’s musical director for many years. Barry has a wry and thoroughly enjoyable sense of humor in both his music and his speaking. Rounding out the Trio will be Dylan Taylor on bass and Bob Shomo on drums. The Trio will also be joined by special guest Greg Pordon on keyboards. Come and enjoy this phenomenal group in our gorgeous sanctuary. A minimum donation of $10 per person will be collected at the door.

Step into a world where nature’s pulse and the vibrant energy of the forest collide in a breathtaking symphony of color. In “Sylvan Muses and Enchanted Horizons”, Stan Sperlak unveils his latest collection, a vivid celebration of the silvan landscapes that surround him. With each stroke of pastel, Sperlak breathes life into the dense thickets, the winding brambles, and the towering trees that form his home, a world where the quiet whispers of the woods explode into a kaleidoscope of vibrant hues.
This exquisite new body of work is more than just a visual experience; it’s an invitation to step into the heart of the forest, to see it as Sperlak does…alive, untamed, and ever-inspiring. From delicate pastels to bold, sweeping movements across paper, Sperlak’s artistic voice resonates with the timeless beauty of nature, drawing us into an everlasting muse that grows ever more profound with each piece.
