Barb is originally from the Buckeye State and during summer breaks from Ohio University, she came to Cape May to waitress and enjoy the beach life. Barb fell in love with the area and after graduating in 1990 from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s in Communication, she left the “country life” and moved to “the shore. “

Upon arriving, she continued to work in the restaurant business and was also hired by the Lower Township Elementary School District in 1991, as a Permanent Substitute Teacher. This started her career in education.  Barb enjoyed working with children and decided to get a degree in teaching.  In 1996, she was hired as a 5^th grade teacher at Sandman Consolidated School. Now after 31 years as a dedicated educator, Barb retired in October.

In January 2023, Barb began her next chapter in life as a Guest Experience Specialist at Homestead Real Estate.  She hopes to bring her love of the area to guests who want to vacation in Cape May and possibly become a local like she did.

Barb still loves going to the beach in town and at the bay in North Cape May.  She enjoys hanging out with friends, her grown children, Morgan and Wilson, traveling back to Ohio to see her parents, her sister in Florida, and jet skiing around the island with Glenn.
