Cape May Point State Park Hawkwatch Platform Starts: 8:30AM | Ends: 10:30AM

Join Cape May Bird Observatory naturalists for this 2-hour walk around the Cape May Point State Park and beyond! Not watching birds when in Cape May is like not visiting the Grand Canyon when in Arizona! Join us for a relaxed morning of birding whether you are a seasoned birder or have never really watched birds. Preregistration Required - Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. We bird in all weather. Be sure to check the forecast in advance and dress in layers appropriate for prevailing weather conditions. The weather in Cape May can differ considerably from nearby inland areas and may be warmer, colder, or windier so it’s best to be over prepared. We may have to bird in the rain, so please bring your rain gear.

Harbor Safari

Trucksess Welcome Center 1600 Delaware Ave, Cape May Starts: 10:30AM | Ends: 12:00PM

Help pull a seine net through the Cape May Harbor to see first-hand what creatures inhabit the waters. Encounter an incredible diversity of marine life as you help pull a twenty-foot seine net through the shallows of Cape May Harbor. You will learn about the ecology of our coastal waters, and about the fascinating and ancient Horseshoe Crab. A great family outing! Pre-registration is required $10 adults, $5 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Limited to groups of up to 20 participants. Children may not participate without an adult.

We meet 5-10 minutes prior to your program time at the picnic tables in front of the Trucksess Welcome Center at 1600 Delaware Avenue. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Restrooms will be available to the public 30 minutes before and after the program.

Join Capt. Bob and CMBO naturalists aboard The Osprey for a wonderful exploration of Cape May’s back bays and salt marsh islands. The very best Cape May sunsets await as you cruise by nesting Osprey and seek out elusive Clapper Rails - all with the most spectacular of natural backdrops! The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible. Double Play at Cape May Stage

Featuring back-to-back one act plays, “Double Play” starts with an exploration of the life of one of America’s most iconic baseball players in the new play “Becoming Satchel Paige”. After the seventh inning stretch, we present “Happy”, about a baseball fan who travels to Delray Beach to find “Happy” Haliday, a favorite baseball player from his youth, and to get his signature on a baseball…but what he really gets from “Happy” is priceless.

Nighttime on the Beach

Meet a Nature Center Naturalist on the beach for an hour of ghost crab chasing! Learn about ghost crab habitat, how they move, and what they eat. Do you think you can catch one? Discover what other creatures are on the beach at night. Pre-registration is required COST: $5 adults, $5 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Children may not participate without an adult. Pre-Registration required. We meet at the end of Mount Vernon Avenue near the end of the Promenade in Cape May. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Restrooms will be available to the public 30 minutes before and after the program. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: We will provide at least 1 "Ghost Crab Catcher 5000" Flashlights (Cell phone flashlights work too!).

Dorothy Parker: A Certain Woman

In 2011, Suzanne Dawson first performed this famous monologue in ELTC's world premiere The World of Dorothy Parker, created by Gayle Stahlhuth.  Suzanne will be performing her favorite Parker monologues, stories, and poems, including "A Telephone Call."
