And what’s the best part? Well, we think it’s that things are just getting started! With Memorial Day merely six weeks in the future, this is the time to enjoy Cape May’s preseason events. It’s also your last chance to rent a beautiful Cape May vacation home for a partial week, as once the season gets rolling, full week rentals are all that will be available until the fall. Day trips to Cape May are always a good idea, but spending a weekend here is the best way to truly unwind and enjoy your experience to the fullest. Most of Cape May’s visitors are well versed in the town’s main attractions and landmarks. But many locals and visitors are not aware that Cape May County has its own museum, and on Friday, April 21st, the museum will be offering free tours at noon and 2:00 pm. This fun and educational event is ideal for the whole family. And as the museum is located just off of Exit 11 of the Garden State Parkway, it’s the perfect place to stop off on your way south!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also on Friday, April 21st, it’s the LAST DAY of the season to enjoy “Spring Break at Congress Hall”. Stop by to enjoy a scavenger hunt or train ride. It’s the perfect event to drop in on if you’re out shopping and strolling the Washington Street Mall.

 

 
The always popular Exit Zero Jazz Festival will be returning this weekend for its spring edition! Kicking off on Friday, April 21st at 6:00 pm, the festival will run through the evening of Sunday, April 23rd. This unique Cape May event presents a wonderful opportunity to unwind and sever the off-season monotony. So come out and enjoy the show! Cape May keeps the creativity flowing through the weekend with the kickoff of SOMA NewArt Gallery’s first 2017 exhibition. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and remain open until 5:00 p.m. Entrance to the gallery is free! If you’re in town for the Jazz festival, why not take in a little local art as well? The gallery is located at 31 Perry St. adjacent to the Washington Street Mall.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Friday, April 28th, Cape May will be kicking off its Spring Celebration! There will truly something for everyone throughout this 10 day event. It’s also taking place just as the blooms of spring plateau and the weather becomes consistently warm. In other words…you’ll want to be outdoors, and the spring festival is the perfect justification. Of course it wouldn’t be a spring celebration without a Crafts and Collectibles show at the Emlen Pysick Estate. The spring version of the show will take place on April 29th and May 6th between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For a truly special spring event, consider attending the 17th Annual Feasting on History Gala. The Gala is held by Historic Cold Spring Village and it takes place on Tuesday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. The venue is the NASW Aviation Museum at the Cape May County Airport, located just a few minutes off of Cape Island. Exciting food, wine and beverage selections from a number of local establishments will be featured for your sampling. If you haven’t yet experienced this unique Cape May County event, maybe this is the year for it!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whether you’re in Cape May for a day, week month, or have made it your permanent home-there is always something going on! And the spring is a truly ideal time to enjoy each and every wonderful event. Remember that some of the best time you could possibly spend in Cape May is that which is free. Think sunset beach walks, promenade strolls in the morning mist, and bike rides through the beauty of the historic district. For those who may be interested, on Monday, April 24th, The American Red Cross will be holding its semi-annual blood drive at Cape May Convention Hall. Local residents and visitors are welcome to participate in this event.
