Time to Treat Dad this Father’s Day!



With Father’s Day around the corner, it’s time to plan and celebrate one the of most important people in our lives. If your Dad is a beer lover, there are many options for him around Cape May. There is nothing better than the unique taste of craft beer from a local brewery. Here are a few options that you can take Dad to visit: Cape May Brewing Co., Cold Spring Brewery,7-Mile Brewery, Bucket Brigade Brewery and Mudhen. If he doesn’t like beer, then you can take him at Nauti Spirits Distillery. They have a farm-to-bottle concept, and their Rum, Vodka and Gin was award winning at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2018.

On Friday June 15, The Honeyhawks will be playing at Nauti Spirits Distillery from 6-9pm, and Nate Cwik at Harry’s from 4-8pm. The members of New York Chamber Ensemble are closing this year’s Cape May Music Festival on Friday at 5:00 pm, at Carriage House Cafe and Tearoom. Stop by to enjoy great music and food but keep in mind, reservations are required.

Over Father’s Day weekend, you can get aboard the Cape May Whale Watcher for a Grand Lighthouse Cruise on Saturday, June 16. You’ll have the opportunity to see seven historic lighthouses and learn more about the history of each one of them. The cruise includes breakfast and lunch. If you are in the mood for great music, stop by at Harry’s to hear the Bastard Sons of Captain Mey play, trust us, you’ll love them.

Starting on Sunday, SOMA New Art Gallery will have three solo exhibitions by regional Artists. You can also listen to Bill Bittman play at Ocean Club Hotel, Nick Sbaffoni at Harry’s and Jon Pruitt at Merion Inn.

If Dad loves nature, Cape May Point State Park has planked walking trails throughout the preserve and wetlands. You can also take him to climb 199 steps while he enjoys a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean at the top of the Lighthouse. Or take a ride on one of the many options of Trolley Tours that Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts  offers.

On Saturday June 23rd, purchase a ticket for the Champagne Jazz Brunch organized by Aleathea’s Restaurant. The ticket includes, buffet, a glass of champagne and great music by Mary Lou Newman.  If you love running, on Saturday stop by at Hawk Haven Winery. They are organizing a race (country-style) which will have you running past vines, ponds and along wooded trails. After the run, you can enjoy a complimentary sangria and live music. If you are hungry, tasty food vendors will be on the premises!

Tuesday June 26, Cape May Convention Hall has a Magic Show for you, with Rich Lessig – The Great Magician.

On Thursday, June 28, you have a day full of music. The Honeyhawks will be playing at Ocean Club – Tiki Ten35, MJ Nestor at Harry’s and Geno White Trio at Sea Salt Restaurant. If you would love to see a play, our Equity theater company, Cape May Stage is presenting “Chapter Two” and East Lynne Theater Company presents “On the Sunny Side of the Street.”
