July in Cape May



The summer is in full swing and the town is more alive than ever. The Independence Day has come and gone, and we hope you had a great spot to watch the fireworks. If this was your first time in Cape May for 4th of July, now you understand why it is so popular and why it’s a tradition for so many people. If you are here or planning to visit soon, we have plenty of recommendations for you to do or see while you are here!

On Saturday, July 14th, if you are in the mood for some good music, Gregg Carpenter will play at Tiki Ten 35, 12pm- 5:00pm; The Bastard Sons of Captain Mey play at Harry’s, 4 – 8pm and Jack Melton Band at Rotary Park, 7 – 9pm; The Squares play at Nauti Distillery, 6:30-9:30pm. On the Promenade, the annual ArtShow takes place and you can buy great pieces from local vendors.

There are a few things that are available the entire month of July! Carroll Gallery exhibits “Capturing Cape May’s Architecture: The Making of a National History Landmark” and it’s a free admission. Also, you can go on a narrated boat cruise around Cape Island. and learn more about the history of the resort and area marine life.

On Monday, July 16, Marnie and Nate play at Harry’s (4-8 pm), Jon Pruitt at Merion Inn, 5:30 – 10:30pm; Odessa Klezmer at Rotary Park (7-9pm) and Cape May Stage presents Jimmy Webb, 8-10pm;

On Tuesday, July 17, stop by at Willow Creek Winery for a fun trivia Night or go at the Convention Hall and see the best magic show presented by The Great Magician.

Free Movies on the beach and at Ferry Park

Did you know you can see movies on the beach in Cape May? Every Thursday during the summer, you can watch a movie on the beach on a big screen by the Convention Hall. Grab a blanket and some snacks and stop by to see some big blockbuster hits each week.

If you want to see a theater play, East Lynne Theater Company presents ” On the Sunny Side of the Street” on July 21 and “Arsenic and Old Lace” on July 25th.

Another great family activity for all ages is 9:30 am – 1:00 pm, or you can stop by at the Lighthouse for a Christmas in July craft show, 10am – 2pm on Wednesday, July 25.
