Walk Score
What is a Walk Score? The Walk Score is a new feature added to the Maps & Attractions section of the property. We offer a standard map of the home and its proximity to the beach and other attractions. The Walk Score is an additional map that calculates the walking score from 0 - 100. It lists shopping and dining destinations and how far they are from the rental unit. It's pretty cool, especially for Cape May which is virtually walkable from just about anywhere for shopping or dining - so don't be alarmed if you have a low Walk Score. Check out the Walk Score of your home. Just click on Maps & Attractions to see the Walk Score.
Swain's Hardware Credit Application
We've asked our homeowners in the past to sign up for a Swain's charge account in Cape May. It makes our life so much easier when we can just have a needed item delivered to the Guest. We've partnered with Swains to create an abbreviated version of the credit application to streamline the process for you. Click here to view the revised credit app:

Last Call For Rates
We thank most of our properties who have submitted rates to us for 2012. We are requesting the remainder of our property owners to submit next year's rates as soon as possible. We have begun the process of creating the 2012 Vacation Rental brochure. If we don't have your rates, your home won't be in our full color vacation guide. We had it professionally printed last year and distributed 3,000 copies. Not only will you not be in our brochure if we don't have your rates by November 1, but your home will not be showing on our website. Once your last check out date passes, your home disappears from the website. So if you have only given us rates up until Labor Day weekend, the following Tuesday it disappears from our website. View Our Entire Inventory
Some Guests have protested that we removed the option to view our inventory of rental homes. Actually, the option was always there, but maybe not as clear as it could have been, so we made some changes. When the HomeStead home page now opens up in their browser, they'll see "View All" added to all the location buttons. So if they click on the View All Cape May/W. Cape May, it will bring up our entire inventory of Cape May and W. Cape May Homes. The same is true for Cape May Point, Offshore/Bayside homes, and Pet Friendly homes.
However, if the Guest only requires a 3 bedroom unit and doesn't want to see the entire collection of 5 and 1-2 bedroom units, they can easily click on "Search 3-4 Bedrooms" on the Cape May bar to see all homes in the 3 bedroom category. The buttons are now a burgundy red for easier detection.
Once they've run through all the 3 bedroom vacation rentals and maybe Uncle Harry, Aunt Mae, and their two kids have decided they want to stay with them so they have to start their search again with the 5 bedroom places, they can just go up to the blue navigation bar and click on Browse Vacation Rentals. It will take them back to the home page for the 5 bedroom search.
More Payment Options
The Guest has finally found a rental that has something for everyone, and we've added payment options. The only agency on the Cape May Island accepting Visa and MasterCard, HomeStead now also brings the option of using a Discover Card or ACH, which is an electronic checking debit. You'll find our credit card logos on the home page just underneath the quick links to Cape/W. Cape May, Cape May Point, Offshore/Bayside and Pet Friendly links.


Mobile Site for Cape May Rentals
You now have the added option to view our website through a user friendly interface when using a mobile device. Our regular website recognizes your mobile unit and automatically refers you to the mobile site. If you go directly into our mobile site via www.CapeMayRentals.mobi you will still have the option to view our full website.
